Analog camera signal processing

The image tube does not directly produce a distribution-ready picture. Camera electronics convert its small current into a stable video signal: they set the black reference and gain, shape the transfer response, combine or match colour channels, limit bandwidth, and form the camera output that later equipment can record, encode, or transmit.

Analog camera electronics prepare image-tube current for the camera output A small current from the Vidicon passes through a preamplifier, level and transfer controls, colour processing, and an output stage before it becomes the signal handed to recording or transmission equipment.01020304VIDICONCURRENTLOAD +PREAMPLIFIERCLAMP · GAIN · GAMMACOLOUR MATRIXCAMERA OUTPUTTO RECORDING / ENCODING / TRANSMISSION
